Jocasta Shakespeare suggested that I visit your website, and here I immediately find (I'm arriving late on this one - dated February) comments on the vexed question of Kindle reading. I am an enthusiast. I still read paper books and if I owned kindle I would want to know why. The answer : it is pleasant to do both/ the paper book can be shared/most important- the process of finding the book I want in the kindle library can be a bit of a bore. They shift the list around.
Otherwise reading a kindle is brilliant in so many ways, and I carry mine in my handbag because I am a reading addict. I suspect that refusniks simply have not encountered a strong enough reason to make the jump. Luddite ? Yes, I think you may be right there. And they are also afraid that they need to defend a bit of territory which, like a much loved field spotted by a developer, is about to disappear. They needn't worry. Kindle and paper book readers can co-exist and interchange and both thrive. Personally I needed to be up to speed for my own website, where kindle versions are for sale.

Congratulations on this website, which is great.

I have just finished this fantastic book. I get the impression that there will be a follow up. I do hope so. I shall be lending my copy out and recommending it to friends.
An excellent read, fascinating insight into the times before we came along.
Thank you Daisy Goodwin, more please!!!

Dear Daisy
I've just finished reading "My Last Duchess" and wanted you to know how totally absorbed I was - page after page, chapter after chapter. It really was a totally captivating and enthralling read. Or to use popular current parlance here in South Africa, "awesome", "stunning"!
What an enjoyable time I had reading your novel over the Christmas weekend. Your characters intrigued me, and I gained new insights into this late 19th century milieu.
Congratulations and thank you. I look forward eagerly to your next!
Regards
Darryl Boswell
(P.S. I'm a 65 year old male!)

Hello Daisy,

Hope you're keeping well.

Was present at your book review on sunday and tremendously enjoyed seeing you in person. Your facial expressions especially is so charming and infectious and you have such a cool sense of humour - like the modern day comparison with Paris Hilton and Prince william or Lady Gaga's constricted outfits and the duchess dress robes in the late era, it was an unforgettable experience all together!

I have began reading My Last Duchess and actually appreciate your natural progression from poetry and memoir to fictional novel (although i'm still a die-hard fan of poetry!). But sincerely, thanks for sharing your writing gifts with us and thanks for my pencil book signing as well ;) X
