Now you will feel no rain

The ideal poem for reading at a wedding should be touching but not too gushing – after all it is probably going to be read by a friend or a relative – and short. ©101 Poems to Get You Through the Day (and Night) by Daisy Goodwin

Now you will feel no rain

Now you will feel no rain,
  for each of you will be a shelter to the other.

Now you will feel no cold,
  for each of you will be warmth to the other.

Now there is no loneliness for you;
  now there is no loneliness.

Now you are two bodies,
  but there is only one life before you.

Go now to your dwelling place,
  to enter into your days together.

And may your days be good
  and long on this earth.

Now you will feel no rain. Copyright © Apache song, translator unknown.
